In 2016, I graduated from the University of Michigan with an M.A. in Education. I currently hold my Michigan Teaching Certification for K-5 All Subjects, K-8 All Subjects Self Contained Classroom; 6-8 Language Arts and K-8 English as a Second Language. I have taught 2nd through 6th grades with an emphasis on project-based-learning and supporting diverse learners. Prior to becoming a teacher, I had almost 20 years professional experience in information technology. I evaluated, designed and implemented new technologies and services as well as provided user training and support during that time. I created and maintained websites and wikis. I am experienced with Google Applications for Education as I was a trained “Google Guide” to support the rollout of services at the University of Michigan. Through my teaching experience, I have become proficient with applications such as RAZkids, Glogster, XtraMath, Piktochart, iMovie, and Animoto. I have also created and delivered an interactive webinar lesson using Blackboard that was geared for 3rd grade level NGSS. This diverse background allows me to excel at integrating technology with classroom instruction.
In my personal life I am happily married with two elementary aged daughters that are the highlight of my days. My hobbies include tinkering with tech gadgets, doing arts & crafts projects with my daughters, volunteering with a local greyhound adoption group, and reading whenever possible. Our busy household includes a menagerie of animals including an occasional greyhound foster dog.
